I notice today that i can hear the pump but once i get home my car shuts off. So i turn it over but wont start. I dont hear the pump. But if i tap the tank it starts running my fuel pump. It sounds like a bunch of hornets in my tank.

It is a very simple process to pull out the fuel pump and replace either the filters OR the entire fuel pump. You pull the rear seat, remove the weather cover for the fuel sending unit, remove the bolts on top of the fuel tank and disconnect the wires to the fuel pump as well as the hoses to the fuel pump. Lift up the fuel pump assembly gently as it will still be full of some fuel. If anything needs replacing, do not forget to replace the O-ring seal on the top of the fuel tank as well, for they have a tightening life of one tightening (don't ask me how I know that....lol...I just do). I hope this helped you out some. Now....this is for import cars. You MAY need to drop the fuel tank to do this OR may need to drop the fuel tank to get to the hoses.
