I have a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado. Truck would not start and gets the message "transmission fault". Tried starting again and it started but got the message "reduced power transmission fault" and then it died. Any idea what the problem may be?

Hello -- simply put, there's a detected fault in the transmission system of the vehicle. This prevents normal driving and operation of the vehicle in an effort to safeguard you as the driver and others on the road...not to mention the vehicle's components which could be further damaged if operated. Diagnostic testing is needed to find out what is going on and figure out how to resolve the malfunction. Testing will require a diagnostic tool capable of analyzing powertrain data and component function, as well as workshop manuals, wiring diagrams and a digital voltmeter / ohmmeter (DVOM). www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
