Doesn't make ding noise for headlites left on or key in ignition when door open.

I have a 2008 cobalt with the same problem. The sound comes from the left front door speaker. When I removed the door panel found a loose and corroded connection, replaced door speakers with aftermarket. everything has been working fine since. hope this helps.
