Had to have my battery replaced after it died. Now everything but the factory installed stereo works. Car repair shop checked fuses...they are fine. Nothing in the owners manual about this.

Is there anything in the message display on the radio? They often need to have a code keyed in (security measure) when the battery is disconnected, but the radio should say "CODE" or something like that.
if they touched the negative terminal to anything to make it spark they might have fried out some wires.remove the radio you should be able to smell if the wires are fried
absolutely NOTHING...blank. the repair guys were doing everything they could think of. under the hood...under the dash...looking through the owners manual, but the stereo remained blank, not turning on or showing anything.
I had to have the battery replaced in my 2006 cobalt ltz and if the car loses power then yes, you have to take the car to the dealership to have them reset the stereo, annoying but there you have it.
