The Torque converter is not 'unlocking' when transmission gets hot .. This causes it to act just like a manual shift transmission when comming to a stop and you forget to push the clutch down..The engine will stall .. When everything cools back down, converter unlocks normally .. To repair this problem > **Have the Torque converter lock up solenoid replaced!** .. Not a difficult task .. I have repaired a bunch of em! For a temporary fix, just until the suggested repair can be completed .. Disconnect the electrical connector on the transmission, it faces to the fronf of the vehicle, kinda square in shape... You may need a car savvy friend to help out > plus that will prove my online diagnosis to be correct!! Happy motoring!
There are a few different things that can cause this. Your next step is to get the proper diagnostics. If you continue driving the vehicle like this it will cause more damage. At this point it may still be a minor repair. We are running a special right now for a no charge transmission diagnostics that includes road test, lift inspection, computer diagnostics, sump test and pressure testing.
