What is your question?
My car just recently started having strange symptoms. At first, the speedometer went completely haywire and the temperature gauge started acting up. Before long, the "Trac Off" light constantly stayed on and that is when I started having the engine jerk/gear change problem. The car seems to drive perfectly fine going down a driveway and you really cant tell until you get on the highway or back roads. It seems like it's stuck in 2nd gear trying to get to third but the RPM's constantly climb to the danger zone. It will eventually change out (sometimes) when approaching a very steep hill and then drives fine until you turn the engine off and then it starts all over again. Tried disconnecting the battery to reset computer but no results. If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

You need to have the Computer Systems scanned on your Chevy and NOT by a parts store I mean a Professional tech with a Serious OEM quality scanner. You have several electrical issues going on and it sounds like your trans is stuck in a limp home 2nd gear mode. You have Speedo/ Instrument Cluster Problems and Traction Control problems. It may be just 1 central Speed Sensor, but you will never know until you get the proper info with a scan.
I also have a cavalier and have had the same exact problems and they just occured out of no where. My car has been in the shop for three months, and they have rebuilt the transmission and brand new wiring harness. Nothing has fixed it, and it still has the same problem after all these changes. Please tell me you have figured it out because at this point it seems like no one knows how to fix it. I know you posted this question quite a few months ago but I was hoping you could maybe help me out a bit and let me know what you figured out about a fix for this problem. I would so greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much.
