Overheating slowly

'02 Cavalier; 185000kms on it; no weeping; no movement in the water pump pulley; no high-pitched squealing from the impeller shaft bearing; new thermostat; system has been drained and refilled; from cold start car idles and temp rises slowly to 90C then quickly to 125C when rasing revs slightly; what's up?
