where is the fuel pump located in the Cavalier, in the gas tank or mounted on the engine

It's in the fuel tank. You need to remove the tank, than remove the pump from the top of the tank. Zee

What is the problem? Did you checked the fuel pressure and it's low? Give us some more info, please. Zee

No I don't really know how to check it, can you tell me how to. And if it is will the filter be my problem, and where is it.

You need to hook up a mechanical pressure gauge to check the fuel pressure. The pressure has to be between 52-58 psi. If you post an e-mail I can send you a diagram of the fuel filter's location. You still didn't tell what is the problem with your car?? Zee
