i want to hook an aftermarket tach in my 98 chevy cavalier it don;t have a factory one. were is the wire that reads the rpm's of the engine??

many aftermarket tach's read the rpm off the coil, ignition module, or PCM (main computer). Auto Meter has info on their website for which wires you need to find for the tachs to work properly. Just put in your model http://www.autometer.com/tech_installation.aspx hope this helps!
