See if the big Red wire at the alternator has 12 volts if not check the fuse link, the gray wire at the alternator should be live with the engine running, or ignition key in the run position (it receives power from the power train control module). Turn on the ignition switch to the on but not run position do you see an icon on the instrument panel representing a battery, if you do not see this battery icon the alternator is not seeing power to allow it to charge. Start the engine does the battery icon go out. Put a volt meter across the battery terminals with the engine off, at rest the battery voltage should be 12.6 volts if the battery is fully charged. Now get a friend to start the car while you watch the voltmeter, the voltage reading across the battery should read approximately 14.6 volts if the alternator is charging correctly.
ALLREADY HAVE DONE THAT AND YES THE ICON IS ON ALL THE TIME WITH KEY ON, OR WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING- BATTERY SHOWS VOLTAGE OF 12.3AMPS NOT RUNNING AND ALT. SHOWS THE SAME AS BATTERY-AS THE BATTERY GOES DOWN ON VOLTAGE SO DOES READING AT ALT. AND I CALLED IT A BATTERY LIGHT BUT IT IS A LIGHT IN THE SHAPE OF A BATTERY
