The key wont come out of the ignition and the battery will not charge
What makes this problem better or worse?

Could be in a safety mode malfunction. Locking the key in ignition, not fully cutting power to vehicle. Or the alternator. Good luck. Let me know if you ever solved this issue. Thanks.
