Why would the radio go off and come back on?

Hello, This is likely an internal fault of the radio. Power to the radio does not seem to be intermittent if you hear something through the speakers, so it is most likely that the unit needs to be replaced. For good measure, pull the unit and check that power is getting to the unit on the large red and adjacent yellow wire, plus make sure the adjacent black wire is providing a good ground.
