We can help by subcontracting this work out and manage the process for you which will cost the same as if you take it to a transmission shop your self or simply just take to the transmission shop of your choice. Sadly, the mechanic is probably correct. There is not much you can do externally to fix shifting problems. The only things you can verify is that the fluid is clean, the transmission is getting the correct vehicle speed, and is in the correct gear. You would check the latter two items with a diagnostic tool. If all is otherwise OK, there is likely an internal mechanical issue occurring. Good luck.
