Any reports on control arm breaking causing wheel to turn sideways.

After turning under bridge to u-turn, driving another 12 yards, stopping to view oncoming traffic in service rd outside lane, having turned wheel to the left to proceed in inside lane, accelerated normally, car headed straight slamming me into guardrail. I had no control and was unaware wheel was sideways.
