What is your question?
AC pressure does not equalize when idle. Is there an orifice tube and where is it located?

Hey there, I'm Dusty, an auto expert with RepairPal's Car Genius team. I'm here to provide some insights and assistance! Your Camaro actually uses a thermal expansion valve (TXV) rather than an orifice tube as a metering device. When the automotive A/C system is in operation, the pressures in the high and low sides don't equalize due to the active circulation of refrigerant by the compressor. This pressure disparity is maintained for efficient system functioning. However, the pressures will equalize after the vehicle has been turned off, usually within a few minutes. If your air conditioning is blowing cold air, that's great! If it's not, I strongly encourage you to have it diagnosed by a professional. They can safely recover the refrigerant and protect the environment, which is great for everyone!
