What kind of repairs and costs should I expect in the first 200,000 miles of a 1998 z28 Camaro?

Hello, These engines do extremely well. The LS1 is a solid engine all around, and I recently inspected an LS1 with 220,000 miles that has never even sprung a leak. The water pump and radiator will fail at some point, and the door panels separate all the time. If you have the 6 speed manual, you'll be fine, but the 4L60E automatic transmission cannot handle hard driving from the LS1 engine. It will fail. Shocks/struts need to be replaced early, nearly always, and V6 models tend to experience frequent failure of two plastic pipes that run from the water pump. Otherwise, look out for "modifications" or "custom" work. Most of the time that means "broken things that are expensive to fix correctly". Fun cars.
