can transmission be pushed back to access fly wheel?
IF everything is disconnected from the transmission it can... In other words it's the same amount of work as preparing to remove the trans! Might as well get it out of the way!! Save time that way.. Remove flywheel and knock old ring off.. Lay new ring on flywheel and start heating with a GOOD Oxy-Acetylene torch until it expands enough to fall into place... Torch has GOT to be shop grade.. Big enough to heat the entire ring!!! I don't know your skill level but this is in no way a job for the average handy man!!! You may find a helpful video on YouTube.. Would be a VERY GOOD time to replace rear main crankshaft seal also!!!!! **Unless you are pretty damn good with a wrench and have the proper tools & equipment, DO NOT attempt this!!!!**
no you have to pull the transmission and take off flywheel then they they can press another ring gear on
Starter ring gear can't be simply pressed on the flywheel... Copy and paste link below to see how it's done: . http://youtu.be/j_sgiTa3gew
