What is your question?
After changing starter, went to start, it started then died after ten second,, checked fuel pressure, very low@10psi only,I can hear the pump on, which I had replaced two yrs ago, any ideas as to what too check next, hope it's not the pump again,, on top of the starter there was a plug or sensor which I have no idea what it's for, maybe I pulled the wire to hard to put back, and it's not making contact,I don't know, wish I knew what it's purpose is,, please if anybody has idea let me know

The sensor is the knock sensor, should still run but maybe not good. Check the fuel filter first, if good possiblr pump issue.
yes,i replaced the filter also, the plug in question runs along same harness wires as knock sensor it splits by starter and plugs right above the starter, the knock is on the bell,i just don't want to take starter down unless i have to,i also just ordered a map sensor online just in case,if it's not either one of these two plugs i assume the low pressure has to be the pump again, the fuel pressure control valve seems ok, i don't see fuel when i take hose off,i'm a old rookie just started working and learning from you guys on youtube after getting tired and broke from paying mechanics,,,,any advice would be appreciated,,thanks for ur reply
If the sensor is straight above the starter close to the same place as the starter bolts, you need to plug them in, it's the crank sensor. Was thinking it was the 5.7L then remembered '99 1/2 ton changed and the 3/4 ton up didn't change. Take the starter off and fix the plug or it will not start. The fuel pump pressure is still an issue.
YES IT'S DIRECTLY ABOVE THE STARTER, THE WIRING IS SO TIGHT WHEN IT SPLITS TO CRANK SENSOR I THINK I MIGHT HAVE PULLED TO MUCH, I'M GONNA GIVE THAT A TRY AND SEE,WOULD THAT GIVE ME A LOW PRESSURE ON FUEL?,EITHER WAY .WILL CHECK THAT, SUASE THAT WAS MY FIRST CONCERN,THANK YOU,WILL KEEP YOU POSTED
Fuel pressure is completely different concern. The crank sensor will not let it run from spark and could cause issues with injectors for timing. The fuel pump is operated from a different source.
I WENT AND CHANGED FUEL PUMP,AGAIN .THE TRUCK FINALLY STARTED,ONLY PROBLEM ,I MADE AN A AMATEUR MISTAKE,WHEN CHECKING THE CRANK SENSOR,I FORGOT TO PROPERLY TIGHTEN THE STARTER BOLTS,AND WHEN I TRIED TO START IT,IT WAS LOOSE,IT JERKED THE NEW STARTER AND THE BOLT BRACKET BROKE.THOUGHT I SHOULD MENTION MY ERA,BESIDES THAT THE TRUCK IS FINALLY STARTING,WHICH MAKES IT THE SECOND FUEL PUMP IN TWO AND HALF YEARS. HOPE MY EXPERIENCE HELPS SOMEONE
I wondered what happened. Good find and don't let the fuel level go below a quarter of a tank. The fuel needs to keep the pump cool all the time. If you can maintain the fuel higher even better on the pump life. Good luck.
Fuel pump failing When you put the key to starting position Your fuel gauge tester should read 50-60 psi
YES,I ONLY GET 10 PSI ON THE GAUGE I RAN OUT AND BOUGHT YESTERDAY,I WAS HOPING IT'LL BE SOMETHING ELSE,SINCE I CAN HEAR THE PUMP AND I JUST REPLACED IT TWO YEARS AGO,,IT COST ME $500. WITH LABOR,I'M JUST GONNA BUY ONE ONLINE AND DO IT MYSELF,WITH THE HELP OF YOU GUYS AND YOUTUBE,GUESS I JUST NEEDED TO HEAR IT FROM SOMEONE, THANKS ALOT! I'LL DEFINITELY KEEP YOU POSTED ON THE OUTCOME..HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
Fuel Tank Replacement (Single Tank) REMOVAL PROCEDURE . Disconnect the negative battery cable. Relieve the fuel system pressure. . Raise the vehicle. . Remove the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister. Disconnect the chassis fuel pipes (2) at the fuel tank pipes (1). Cap the fuel and EVAP pipes in order to prevent possible fuel system contamination. Disconnect the EVAP vent pipe at the fuel tank clip (5). Loosen the vent hose clamp (4). Disconnect the vent hose from the vent pipe. With the aid of an assistant, support the fuel tank. Remove the fuel tank strap attaching bolts. Remove the fuel tank straps. Carefully lower the rear of the fuel tank slightly. Remove the fuel sender cover on the Suburban only. Disconnect the fuel sender and the fuel pressure sensor electrical connectors. Remove the fuel tank. Place the fuel tank in a suitable work area. Remove the fuel feed and return pipes (3) from the fuel sender and the retaining clips. Remove the fuel sender assembly from the fuel tank. Remove the EVAP pipe from the fuel tank roll over valves (2) (4) and the retaining clips (1). Remove the fuel fill hose and the vent hose from the fuel tank. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE Connect the EVAP pipe to the fuel tank roll over valves (2) (4) and the retaining clips (1). Install the fuel sender assembly to the fuel tank. Connect the fuel feed and return pipes (3) to the fuel sender and the retaining clips. Install the fuel fill hose and the vent hose to the fuel tank. Tighten Tighten the hose clamps to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in) With the aid of an assistant, support and partially raise the fuel tank front end first. Connect the fuel sender and the fuel pressure sensor electrical connectors. Install the fuel sender cover on the Suburban only. Fully raise the fuel tank. Install the fuel tank straps. Install the fuel tank strap attaching bolts. Tighten Tighten the bolts to 40 N.m (30 lb ft) . Connect the fuel fill hose and the vent hose to the pipes. Turn the ignition ON. 20.4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
thanks alot!,guess i'm changing my first fuel pump, will keep you guys updated, have a good day,,
