POOR ground circuit to (mast likely) rear bulbs - the bulb sockets are replaceable. GOOGLE > 98 C 1500 taillight bulb circuit board.

When taillights AND signal lights are in use - the GROUND circuit is not sufficient enough to carry all of the current. Turn taillights (headlights) off - GROUND circuit ok for signal / brake lights. Just replace both rear taillight circuit boards! Happy motoring! 🍀
