Banging sound coming from rear end on drivers side

Sound coming from drivers side rear end.on 2005 Chevy suburban with 129,000 miles. Sounds like I’m driving on a flat tire as the wheel rotates. If i make a complete stop it goes away for awhile and then comes back. It’s like a loud thump Dealer had it for a couple days and only heard it a couple times but when the stoped it would go away and not come back for awhile. They can’t figure out what it is.
