My Suburban will not move when put into gear ?

My suburban was put into park while driving . Ever since it will not move when put into any gear.I was told it was the park pin and it is sheared off ? Is that true ? Is that making it unable to engage when put into gear? It feel's like it goes into each gear , just nothing happens? Can you tell me what the problem may be and what to repair? Thanks
