What would cause my SUV not to start after changing my fuel pump? Could the transmission lock cable affect the issue???

I drove my SUV home from work and parked it went to go to work and it wouldn't start? Changed the fuel pump and it still won't start? The 2002 chevy Blazer LS 4door 4x4 has a different ignition and a wire hanging out below which if pushed in and turned wont allow gear shifter to move !?!

Wouldn't think the cable would keep Blazer from starting. Did it start before replacing the fuel pump?

No, that is why I changed the fuel pump!!? But it did start the night I drove it home from work!!
