Where is the fuel tank pressure sensor located? Could this be what is causing my gas guage not to operator correctly

The tank pressure sensor is for the emissions system, and has no effect on the fuel gauge. It's likely that the tank level sensor is failing, which is fairly common. Check our common problems page: http://repairpal.com/chevrolet-blazer-2001/common_problems
It sits on top of the fuel tank attached to a vacum line. For you gas gage you need to change your fuel pump.
I Have an 02 chevy Astro van atop the fuel tank is also the pressure sensor. My check engine light was on due to a faulty wire in the cluster that also leads the pump and level indicator. I have most of these wires melted together and it is causing my gague to act up frequently.(It's beginning to short as well). I would check your wire harness that feeds your fuel pump. Pay close attention, My short is in a tough spot to find, I had a vehicle inspection done and the mechanic pointed it out to me.(Worth the $68).
