can't pass emissions they say e-vap not functioning properly. Can i fix this myself ?? Is it located near the fuel tank ?

Evap codes are often hard to trace unless the leak is big. Many automotive repair shops have a machine that generates an inert non flammable low pressure smoke that looks similar to cigar smoke. Small leaks need to be tested by using a "smoke machine" to locate the source of a leak. Purge valve, canister vent valves, the canister itself and all the plumbing of these parts need to be checked. All you can really do your self is see that al hoses are connected.
I am dealing with almost the same thing, Same problem with the evap. purge solenoid but it is located underneath the spare tire, It takes a 9/16 socket to remove the bolt, then two clips to remove it completely. I just had mine replaced and its still giving me problems but yes you can save a lot and its more effective to fix it yourself...
