What is your question?
As I went to start the Blazer I heard a pop noise from under the hood followed by a puff of smoke and a bad smell. The engine acted funny for a little bit and the it started to Idle at 2000 rpm when it normally idled at 500 rpm. The service engine light came on. I tap on the gas pedal to try to get the idle to correct itself and it seemed to have a mind of its own and jumped to 3000 rpms and then slowly went back to 2000. code given is p0101

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. The high idle and the pop noise from your Blazer could indicate a problem with the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, as the P0101 code relates to it. The MAF sensor measures the amount of air entering the engine, and if it's damaged or malfunctioning, it can cause erratic engine behavior, such as high idling. The pop might have been from a hose or vacuum line coming loose or a backfire due to an air-fuel mixture issue. I'd recommend checking the MAF sensor and inspecting your engine and connected systems for vacuum leaks.
