abs light stays on

The ABS light is indicating tht the ABS controller has detected a problem with the system and has data and fault codes stored. You need a mechanic with a scanner to diagnose the ABS and fix what's wrong. You should know that when the ABS light is on, you do not have your antilock brake function but should have the conventional brake system working still. Either the module or one of the wheel sensors has failed and the system detected it. The real problem is your ABS is not working at this time. You need to bring the vehicle to a shop that can diagnose the probelm and repair it so you have the brakes when you need them. The weather will be like this until March. Good luck.

check your third brake light. funny thing that its on the same harness as your abs and cruise control. another words your blubs may be out.
