2011 Chevy Aveo. Stick shift.gears work fine. Key is stuck won't turn off to get key out ! Key will start car. What do I do .?

If I'm thinking correctly, there is a tab or button to push when returning the key to the "off" position, to remove the key safely. You may need to seek hands on local guidance to confirm the proper operation and get a sense of what may be hanging up the mechanism to release the key.
There must be a button or tab to depress, since it's a manual transmission equipped vehicle. It takes the place of a "shift interlock" that an automatic transmission equipped vehicle has. I don't have a model in front of me, but there must be a routine, tab, pressing in, something for the key to release.
Thank for responding , but my 2011 Chevy Aveo stick - Does Not have that Tab U are referring to , do U have Any other Suggestions ? It will turn over and I can Drive it ! It just won't Turn Off , have to take positive OFF Battery .
