Can yoy drive a 2009 aveo lt sedan without the obd2 comnection plug or port removed

2009 Chevy Aveo LT Sedan with 1.6 litre engine.OBD2 plug or connection port to hook up a diagnostic to has been removed and wires that go to the connector are cut off but have wire nuts on each 1 to keep them from touching anything.Can I drive it without the connector plug .I don't need to hook a scan tool to it .Thought I would replace. Connector later.
