What makes this problem better or worse?
former Salvage title, seller said ice-cold, however, there was no AC.

Hello, there is no "database" to refer to about AC installation or equipped status. Two recommendations: Ask a local Chevrolet dealer near you to see if they have any build data. Also, check with CARFAX - if a shop installed AC or did any work with AC and they communicate with CARFAX - data will show up. Worth looking! Good luck!
