how do you remove the strut to replace the strut mount?

If you don't have the correct tools and know how, don't attempt this type of repair. You can remove the complete strut assembly pretty easy, but you must compress the strut sping to remove the mount. If this is done wrong and the spring gets loose, you can get hurt pretty bad. If you feel this repair can be handled by you, then you can get a loaner spring compressor. They are available at your local auto parts loaner tool program. Remove the strut assembly, compress the spring then remove the center bolt on top of the spring. Replace old mount with new one. Replace center bolt release the spring and install the strut back into the car.
