Hello, According to the wiring diagram for your vehicle, like most others, the stop-lamp fuse is hot at all times, and there is always power to the brake light switch. When you press the brakes, it sends power from the brake light switch, direct to the tail lights. You may have water in the tail lights, the wrong bulbs, or some other inconsistency there. Unplug the brake light electrical connectors, and see if you blow the fuse when the pedal is pressed. That will let you know if they are an issue. You also may have a bad ground for the tail lights. Another place the brake light switch sends a signal (when the pedal is pressed) is the anti-lock brake (ABS) module. If the ABS module is faulty, and power is moving from the module, to the switch, that will blow the fuse as well. The fuse should be 15 amps. Test both sides of the brake light switch with the brake pedal in the raised position (not pressed), and see if there is power going to both sides of the switch. If there is, test the wire at the ABS module to see if there is power with the brake light switch off. If there is power to both sides of the brake light switch without pressing the brake pedal, probably need to replace the ABS control module. If you show this message to your mechanic, tell him to follow it, you will have a diagnosis.
