How much would it cost to replace the metal brake lines, not rubber hoses, on a 2005 Chevy Avalanche 1500 4wd? The lines are rusted out from salt exposure.

What makes this problem better or worse?

No brakes , fluid leak, metal line rusted.

Due to the rust and likelihood of extra time required to complete the replacement it will be difficult to obtain an accurate estimate. This procedure is usually based on time and materials used for the final tally. Best bet is contacting local auto repair facilities for more details there.. I’m thinking there may be a complete brake line replacement kit available - that might be the best way to go for the brake lines as opposed to purchasing one at a time as needed - plus ALL of the brake lines would be NEW.
