How to get mice to stop chewing wires inside Chevy Astro van 2004 and stay out?

Live trapped 38 mice inside 2004 Chevy Astro van but they keep coming - what can I do to keep them out and stop chewing wires causing fire and smoke? Saw there was an old recall as components attract mice - is there anything I can do now October, 2021? I camp in it and got tired of mice running on me in night. Sharon

What makes this problem better or worse?

Have dog so don’t want to use poison for mice
