Van turns on, but won't turn over. Just makes starting noise

What's the 'noise'? Is it a clicking sound?

Your problem may be either in the starter, the electrical circuit controlling the starter, or you may have several broken/chipped teeth on your flywheel. Does your van start up sometimes, or it doesnt start up at all?
