known problems with oil usage and timing belt issues

No timing belt, has timing chain.

Known consumption problems. Cadillac recommends checking the oil at 2k miles and at that point it's supposively normal to have to need a quart of oil otherwise if u let it run low the chains and possible other components will wear to the point where u will have to change it all out. Don't let ur oil changes go past 6000 miles ( unless u are using a good high end oil like Redline).
