What is your question?
After having the front tires balance I've noticed a vibration in the steering wheel at speeds between 60 and 70. Above and below these speeds there is no vibration.I took the vehicle back to the repair facility and was told my vehicle (76,000 miles) needs front wheel bearings. I'm a bit suspecious as this facility is not hesitant in suggesting all kinds of repairs when performing routine oil changes and never brought this up until I returned and requested they recheck the balance. based on this discription, does this sound legit or could there bee some other cause ? Thanks.

I would have the wheels balanced before anything else. They may also be out of round (seen that before) Wheel bearings are noisy as well. Jack up a wheel and grab it from the top and bottom and see if there is any play. Best way if you're not hearing any noise.
i agree with hal. get them re balanced and see. if you dont feel confident with the shop, get a second opinion from another shop. Roy
first you need to check you wheel balance and after that you need to check the state of your tires, bad wheel bearing will make noise or too mutch air in the tires and damage the tier belt in side if your tire is too old but that is very smal chance but i will still check it and road test it wheel bearing dose not have any thing to do with 76000 miles
