What is your question?
I replaced the fuel pump when it failed. Car drove fine after that, however, the gas gauge still didn't read correctly. The car quit again about a month later with no warning. In fact I started the car after I came out of a store, turned the car back off after a minute to go into another store. When I came out again about 20 minutes later it wouldn't start. Once I got the car home we played around with it a little and after taking the fuel pump out and then putting it back in because we noticed a disconnected wire the car started. We let it run for 5 minutes but then it wouldn't start again a few minutes later. Any ideas before I purchase another fuel pump? I've had a friend do this work for me, not a garage.

Does it drive and then shutoff after awhile?? It could be a number of things.. Look at the diagram in the link I sent u.. http://www.cadillacseville.org/technical.html#8
It doesn't restart at all. The first time the fuel pump went out there were warning signs like the gas gauge being off. It was sluggish like it wasn't getting gas, it stalled a couple times before it quit altogether. The fuel pump was replaced and worked fine (except the fuel gauge still didn't read properly) and then it quit a month later with no warning at all. My son took the pump out and then we saw a wire he hadn't seen before so he hooked the fuel pump back up and I turned the key in the ignition and there was power getting to the pump so he reinstalled the fuel pump thinking it was a wire that came loose. The car started and we let it run for about 5 minutes to recharge the battery. After we shut it off we tried starting it again a few minutes later and it wouldn't start. And that's where we are now. Thank you for the map. I'll show it to my friend.
It might not be the fuel pump. On that map I sent you, it shows u different steps to do in order to find the problem. You may need a new ECU, speed sensor, a new fuel line, a new chassis pump, etc.. the map shows it all. These problems are for a 1976-1979 seville if I'm not mistaken.. But it seems that many cadillacs have the same problem as your going through.. If it happened back then, it may be the same problems now. Maybe it'll help your new seville like it helped the older sevilles. Try it out. Can't hurt, might help.
I will, thank you for your help.
