What is your question?
After checking all hoses and checked for possible leaks, then changed out the thermostat and replaced water pump, the temp gauge will still move towards red zone. What or where should I look next?

Same problem here. It looks like the Aluminium head bolts are wearing out, causing the compression to be forced into the cooling system, hence the high temperature. My car just did the same thing...there are some other postings on here about that. Could be an $800-$3000 job to fix...not even worth it!
Are you kidding me!!!! I don't drive it that much....This is something I have to really think about. But thank you for responding to my quire....food for thought.
This was a response to an earlier question, We need to get this mechanic's # so my guy can call him... Question Answered: Northstar Head Gasket Issue? April 27, 2013, 04:19 PM I have a 1998 Eldorado ETC that had the same issue of running hot. My mechanic told me that the head gasket was allowing the exhaust to get into the cooling system and causing the engine to overheat. He fixed it by reaming the bolt holes in the engine block and placing steel inserts into the holes. When the new gasket and head bolts were installed the inserts lock into the aluminum and won't allow the bolts to back out again. The cost of the repair was around $800.00 and worth every penny. I've got over 215000 miles on that Northstar engine now and it's still running strong!! The dealership wanted a lot more money to fix the problem, lucky for me that my mechanic retired from Cadillac and now has his own auto repair shop.
I too have a guy that use to work for Cadillac...I am going to take my car to him and have him give it the once over. I hope he says the same as your guy. Thanks for the response.
