Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Escalade. Replacing the engine in a hybrid vehicle can introduce risks if the new motor isn't properly matched to the drivetrain's requirements, including the hybrid drive motor inverter assembly. The inverter handles the distribution of electrical energy to the hybrid motor and is designed to work within specific tolerances. If the new engine is a direct replacement, it should not cause any issues if properly installed. A more powerful or differently tuned engine might cause increased stress on components like the inverter due to changes in torque demands or electrical system synchronization. Improper installation or calibration during the engine swap could also lead to inverter malfunction. A diagnostic check of the hybrid system and inverter should reveal if the issue stems from compatibility or another fault.
