ESV Cadillac. Service ride control message,instrument cluster not working.

What is your question?

It is a ESV Cadillac. I get the Service ride control message, The module is only available from the dealer.. Is it a part I can put in myself? also it appears my instrument cluster is not working in my dash, the speedometer works off and on, or sticks at a certain speed on the gauge. Is this something I can replace myself. Everything is so expensive. Both parts are about $400.00 - $500.00 each .... is there a site that can walk me through replacing these items... that is if it is not so difficult to do. Where are these parts located on the car.

The electric suspension control (ESC) module on your 2005 Cadillac Escalade needs to be properly programed and set-up to your vehicle after it is installed. I would recommend a dealer visit for this repair (Or a very specialized aftermarket shop) - please use this link to find a shop near you - http://repairpal.com/cadillac-repair-in-puyallup-washington. Depending on your ability you may be able to take care of the cluster yourself. The cluster will need to be removed and set to a specialty shop for repair. A web search should identify companies dealing with this type of repair.

the speedo thing happened to me in my chev and my wifes escalade.the dealer had cover it under warrenty on my chevy said it was a recall in2005.My wifes unit i had to pay for labor but they put a new cluster in.that was in dec 2010.

The ride control is a component that has to be reprogrammed after installation. I suggest you call the dealer or find an independent shop that has the GM service tool and access to the web updates. As for the instrument cluster there are some repair shops that specialize in electronic speedometer repair. If you locate a shop capable of this repair and are comfortable and want to to remove and reinstall the cluster give it a try. If not you can take your vehicle to a repair facility and have this performed for you. Good luck
