A/C intermittantly works

This must be a common problem. My '05 does the same thing. The hot air only blows out the driver side vents, the other vents are cool. On a hot Florida day, when this happens, you can't wait to get to a stop sign so you can shut the vehicle off and restart it to get it to blow cool air again!

i need the answer to this question ; how do i resolve this problem ?
