Where is the fuel filter located?

This can be confusing because if you go to about any parts store and tell the parts wizards that you need a fuel filter for a 2004 Cadillac Escalade no matter which model or which engine they will sell you an external mounted fuel filter because in their computer system,it says there is one,but there isn't because in 2004 GM changed it and it is now part of the fuel pump module assembly and never needs servicing unless you replace the whole fuel pump module assembly.there is even a video of a person changing an in line fuel filter on an Escalade and it says applies to 2002-2006,but this is not true.
