the dash temp. gauge stays at 1/4 all the time if the eng. is cold or hot.

it has a coolant temperature sensor that controls that guage.have it checked.could be bad.check connector on sensor also.it's around $25.00

I replace the sensor to start with. Hope you have something else!

if that sensor is working,have you checked the connector for damage?
