You have the large main cables touching the small terminal down at the starter solenoid - remedy that and this problem will go away!

No other possibly! Closely inspect the positive cable at the starter - the metal end of the cable is making contact with the small wire terminal on the starter solenoid - - result - as soon as you attempt to connect cable to the battery - engine begins to crank. Good luck!
