Replaced bad positive battery cable in the same position as old battery cable now Car wants to automatically start

No other possibly! Closely inspect the positive cable at the starter - the metal end of the cable is making contact with the small wire terminal on the starter solenoid - - result - as soon as you attempt to connect cable to the battery - engine begins to crank. Good luck!
