Are you saying a cv boot, if the boot is worn it will let debri and dirt into the joint which can cause problems, secondly always check power steering fluid level first may be low, and another part along with powerstering pump and lines, the rack and pinion unit, and most definity check tire pressure, a low tire will cause a change in steering conditions. Are you hearing any noise when turning?
