What is your question?
My 2006 Cadillac DTS has approximately 160,000 miles. The car shakes when idling at stop light, but seems to run fine going down road. I have tried fuel additives to clean the fuel injection system, but the problem persists. The car does also have an oil leak from the oil pan gasket. I use different stop leak additives with each oil change every 2 to 3,000 miles. What may be the cause of this problem? What May correct this problem?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Appears do idle rough after engine is warm
How long has your 2006 Cadillac DTS had this problem?

Hello, first - the stop leak additives aren't helping you any. They may not be hurting your engine, but they certainly will not help and can only serve to cause problems. There's no magic fix for an oil leak. It just must be addressed and repaired. Second - the rough idle -- on a 15 year old vehicle with 160,000 miles - can be caused by many different things. Even a worn or broken engine mount -- or two or three -- can cause unwanted vibration due to a lack of proper dampening of the engine in the subframe. Multiple concerns can be occurring with engine drivability, such as improper air / fuel mixture, sticking throttle or air intake components, emission control components that are clogged or worn out, spark plugs and ignition components that are worn, or even base engine issues related to timing or compression. Hands on testing in each area is required with use of a good diagnostic tool and shop manual for reference. Good luck. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
