How much $$$ to replace tranny?

My recommendation would be to verify that this rebuilt transmission is coming from a reputable source like GM or Jasper. Ask if there is an extended or upgraded warranty available and buy it if possible. I would also want to know why the transmission failed so a future failure can be prevented. Another good insurance policy would be to replace the radiator because it contains the transmission cooler. The cooler can become restricted with debris that can make it's way into the new transmission or cause a flow restriction that can cause transmission overheating, both of which can cause a failure down the road.
