The whole driver side panel fell off while I was closing the door. I was going to remove the car from the garage before going to work This is the first time it has happened. I am assuming whatever holds the panel to the door broke off.

Hello, You will need to examine the door and panel for broken components, retaining screws that may have ripped through the door panel, torn wires, and ensure the door release cable is still connected to the latch and handle. Once all of those are fixed, removed, or confirmed good, you can re-hang the door panel by putting all of the clips that stayed in the door back into the door panel, hang the top of the panel first, then press the fasteners in moving from top to bottom. Afterwards, replace the screws that will still work.
