Some days may drive good idle around 600.

Is this when it's cold out? The computer has a cold start setting the runs the engine at a higher RPM until it's warmed up. Otherwise, could be a number of things; vacuum leak, idle valve, throttle body. I had the same thing and it was the ICM "idle control module" it is easy to inspect. If you remove it and the plunger pops off, it's no good. I replaced it and the idle returned to 650. The only thing I'm not sure about is, I used a one off a 2001 and not sure it's allowing the engine to run without further problems. It seems to be noisier and labors more with more noise. Not a miss.
