benefits to repairing at dealer?

What is your question?

Are there any benefits to getting this car fixed at a Cadillac dealer, e.g. warranty on parts and repairs? I know there is a 1 year warranty or 1,000 miles warranty on parts and repairs through dealer,or do you get that at an independent repair shop also? And are the repair costs comprable?

A 2001 car all though not "old" is old enough that a good independent repair shop that are knowledgeable in Cadillac or GM products should be competent in maintaing and repairing your car.
